Mount Greylock School Committee Approves Track and Field Bid Documents Unanimously

WILLIAMSTOWN — July 13, 2023 — Mount Greylock School Committee unanimously approves track and field construction bid documents, targeting spring 2025 opening. The committee voted at its July 13 remote meeting to release bid documents in late July, with results to be reviewed at the mid-September meeting, where the committee will either accept the lowest qualified bid or reject all bids. Business Manager Joe Bergeron noted two additions since last fall: electrical timing connections at both ends of the straightaway at roughly $2,000 and pole vault pits at both ends at roughly $2,500 to $3,000. Chair Christina Conry confirmed that Lanesborough recently passed its borrowing authorization, completing municipal approvals from both member towns, and that a committee fundraising group will resume work in late July toward establishing an independent 501(c)(3) to reduce borrowing costs for residents.
