Williamstown Planning Board defers leadership vote, sets 2027 zoning priorities
WILLIAMSTOWN — June 9, 2026 — Williamstown Planning Board maps out 2027 zoning agenda and advances subdivision rewrite as state grant expires June 30. The board, chaired by Ken Kuttner with members Corey Campbell, Roger Lawrence, Eric Reardon, and Sam Page participating remotely or absent due to a household issue, unanimously approved an Approval Not Required determination for a fence-line property transfer on Knolls Road, then spent the bulk of its June 9 meeting working through remaining details of a subdivision rules rewrite conducted with consultant Dodson and Flinker. Key unresolved items include road acceptance policy and a 20,000-gallon cistern sizing standard for subdivisions without public water, which the board said it will confirm with the fire chief before finalizing. For 2027, the board identified four zoning priorities: amendments required by the Seasonal Communities Act designation — including tiny homes and infill housing provisions that must reach town meeting within 24 months or the designation lapses — a shared driveway zoning project, continued mixed-use development work, and a fee review across all land use boards. The board deferred its annual leadership reorganization, with Kuttner indicating he is willing to stay as chair through year's end, to allow full attendance at the July 14 meeting.
