Williamstown Opens Ballot Counting Sessions to Public Observers

Williamstown's town clerk announced that early voted ballots for next month's State Primary will be opened in public sessions on August 26 and 27, with residents welcome to register in advance to observe the process.

The Town of Williamstown said in a News Flash update posted Monday that early voted ballots cast ahead of the September 1 State Primary will be opened during two sessions on August 26 and 27. Observers who register ahead of time are welcome to attend, the town said, a step toward keeping the ballot-handling process open to public view as early voting gets underway later this month.

Several town boards meet in the coming week. The Board of Assessors convenes August 19 at 10 a.m. at the Assessor's Office, 31 North Street. The Zoning Board of Appeals holds a hybrid meeting August 20 at 7 p.m., available in person at 31 North Street or via Zoom and streaming on willinet.org. The Historical Commission meets August 21 from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Community Meeting Room at 31 North Street. The Select Board holds its next hybrid session August 24 at 7 p.m., also streamed on willinet.org and broadcast on Spectrum TV Channel 1303.
